Softball Recap: Eastern Hancock Royals vs. Triton Central Tigers
Eastern Hancock was the 14-0 winner over Triton Central when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Royals took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Monday.
McKenna Stewart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Addisyn Trackwell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
Eastern Hancock's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Triton Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Hancock will host Warren Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Triton Central, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
