Basketball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Norwich Free Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell to the Ridgefield Tigers 37-31. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Norwich Free Academy lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Petra Berry, who posted six points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Emily Orcutt was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Norwich Free Academy's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Ridgefield, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Norwich Free Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ridgefield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-49 defeat against Southington on the 7th.
