Basketball Recap: Pieper Piles Up the Points Against Vela

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pieper had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Vela Sabercats 62-35. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Pieper's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna Davis, who posted 12 points. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Alison Naylor was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Pieper smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Pieper is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. Vela's loss dropped their record down to 26-11.

Pieper didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-42 defeat against Wagner on the 22nd. Vela does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
