Volleyball Recap: Yates Center's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Yates Center saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Osage City Indians.

Yates Center was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14.

Cayten Cummings paced Yates Center's offense, picking up six kills. Cummings got some help from Madison Hall and her seven assists. Wylee Shaffer controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Osage City found their leader in sophomore Jada Ruiz, who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Ruiz.

Yates Center's loss ended a seven-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Osage City, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Yates Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against West Franklin on the 27th. As for Osage City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Maranatha Christian Academy on the 27th.
