Baseball Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Find Success

Arthur-Okaw Christian took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Calumet Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Conquering Riders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots on Saturday, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Conquering Riders have posted against the Patriots since May 10, 2019.

Reagan Rademacher made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Arthur-Okaw Christian let Ian Herschberger and Grayson Schrock run wild. Herschberger got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Schrock went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three runs gave Herschberger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cody Kuhns, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Arthur-Okaw Christian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Calumet Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Coming up, Arthur-Okaw Christian will head out on the road to square off against Unity Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calumet Christian, they will be playing at home against North Newton at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
