Preview: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Brown County Eagles
Monrovia has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Brown County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Monrovia beat Indianapolis Shortridge 68-59.
Monrovia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Jones, who scored 23 points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Tharp, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Brown County suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Saturday. Their tough 79-57 loss to North Putnam might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brown County in their matchups with North Putnam: they've now lost six in a row.
Monrovia's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Brown County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Monrovia strolled past Brown County in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 72-57. Does Monrovia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brown County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
