Baseball Recap: North Newton Comes Up Short

North Newton was the 6-0 winner over West Central when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans lost 14-4 to the Trojans on Tuesday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hunter Crabtree was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Korbyn Haberlin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for West Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

While North Newton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
