Baseball Game Preview: City of Life Christian Academy Warriors vs. First Academy Eagles

The City of Life Christian Academy Warriors will head out to take on the First Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: City of Life Christian Academy has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while First Academy will arrive with three straight wins.

City of Life Christian Academy fell victim to Geneva and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. First Academy put the hurt on Altamonte Christian with a sharp 18-1 victory.

Damien Bean was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bean was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Bell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Dominick Peterson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

First Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

First Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for City of Life Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

City of Life Christian Academy beat First Academy 5-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2015. Will City of Life Christian Academy repeat their success, or does First Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
