Baseball Recap: Desert Ridge Comes Up Short

Desert Ridge came into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Williams Field Black Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 on Tuesday.

Tre Hallberg was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Desert Ridge and nudges their season record down to 14-7. As for Williams Field, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Desert Ridge will square off against Sunrise Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Williams Field, they will take on Queen Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
