Basketball Recap: Ellenville Comes Up Short

If Ellenville was feeling good fresh off their 62-25 takedown of Liberty last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ellenville Blue Devils were outmatched by the Highland Huskies and fell 74-37. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Ellenville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tawanya Harrington dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Harrington has posted since back in January of 2024.

Ellenville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Highland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.

Ellenville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-48 win against Eldred on the 21st. Highland has also already played their next matchup (against Minisink Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
