Soccer Recap: Maine West Comes Up Short

Maine West and Lane Tech squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Maine West had to settle for second. They came up short against the Champions, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Maine West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Lane Tech are ranked fourth).

Maine West has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Lane Tech, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2-2.

Maine West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lane Tech, they will welcome Jones at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
