Football Recap: Pine-Richland Falls Short Against Ranked Central Catholic

Pine-Richland faced Central Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams received a blow as they fell 34-20 to the Vikings. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Pine-Richland lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was AARON STRADER, who rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 76 yards and one TD. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was MACLANE MILLER, who rushed for 125 yards.

Even if they lost, Pine-Richland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was GRANT PILLAR with three.

Pine-Richland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Central Catholic, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine-Richland will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Seneca Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Catholic, they will welcome Woodland Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
