Baseball Recap: Hannan Takes a Loss

Hannan had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-16 to make it ten. They lost 13-0 to the St. Marys Blue Devils. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for St. Marys, the victory got them back to even at 11-11. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For St. Marys' part, Cayden Barnard was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Barnard also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Marys is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise. Barnard was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Liam Davis was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ayden Powell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Hannan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-0 loss against Elk Valley Christian on the 2nd. As for St. Marys, they have also already played their next game, a 13-1 defeat against Doddridge County on the 5th.
