Basketball Recap: Wesley Chapel's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wesley Chapel won the last time they faced Land O' Lakes, and Ethan Hicks did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wesley Chapel Wildcats strolled past the Land O' Lakes Gators with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 81-65 thanks in part to Hicks, who went 11 for 19 en route to 34 points. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Cooper Peat was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 14 points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Land O' Lakes' loss came despite strong showings from Chartric Darby and Jacoby Davis. Darby dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards, while Davis went 7 for 8 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brody Soldano, who posted eight points.

The victory (which was Wesley Chapel's third in a row) raised their record to 16-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Land O' Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Wesley Chapel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-58 win against Sunlake on the 29th. As for Land O' Lakes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-52 defeat against Mitchell on the 30th.
