Volleyball Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sierra can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lathrop Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Sierra took Lathrop into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-21, 25-21, 21-25, 15-13.

Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Lathrop, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Sierra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lathrop, they will square off against River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
