Bret Harte dropped their record down to 15-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 8-3 to the Linden Lions. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bret Harte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Trent, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Linden, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Linden's side, Marco Holguin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Holguin has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other pitching news, Linden got a great performance from Justin Sales as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Sales has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Brody Black was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and two doubles. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

While Bret Harte had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
