Soccer Game Preview: McMichael vs. West Davidson

The McMichael Phoenix will challenge the West Davidson Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, McMichael and North Forsyth finished up their game with a 1-1 draw.

The Phoenix's goal came courtesy of Kenzie Smith, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, West Davidson strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their defense stepped up to hand South Davidson a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for West Davidson, who have now won 16 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

West Davidson pushed their record up to 19-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 76 goals over those 11 contests. McMichael's draw makes their record 5-8-2 this season.

McMichael suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to West Davidson in their previous matchup back in March. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Phoenix were down 8-1.
