Recap: Western Plains Bobcats vs. Cheylin Cougars
The Western Plains Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. Their rough 58-38 loss to Cheylin might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Western Plains has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Despite the defeat, Western Plains saw an underclassman step up: Jaelyn Spangler dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spangler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Strickler, who scored seven points.
Western Plains' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cheylin, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Western Plains will head out on the road to take on Northern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Northern Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Cheylin, they will be playing at home against Golden Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
