Basketball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Loyd Star Hornets. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

When it comes to explaining why Salem lost, don't look at Kira Bridges. Despite the final result, she posted three points and five steals. Bridges is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last nine games she's played.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Loyd Star, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Salem will welcome Amite County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loyd Star, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-25 loss against North Pike on the 13th.
