Baseball Recap: Mechanicville Takes a Loss

Saratoga Central Catholic hit Mechanicville with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders lost 8-1 to the Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Wednesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Mechanicville and nudges their season record down to 9-5. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0.

Coming up, Mechanicville will venture away from home to challenge Beekmantown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, they will host Tamarac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bengals have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
