Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Lakeview

Lakeview waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the McKinley Red Dragons. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Mackenzie Stowe was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kalyssa Werner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Lakeview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Lakeview's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for McKinley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coming up, Lakeview will face off against Struthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.25 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for McKinley, they will welcome Poland Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
