Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Laurence had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves by a score of 2-0.

The win didn't come easy: Thornton Fractional South scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19.

Aubrey Martinez paced St. Laurence's offense, picking up 12 kills. Martinez got some help from Keely Bowen and her 24 assists. Abby Ambrose and McKenna Rake kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

St. Laurence's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-11. As for Thornton Fractional South, they moved to 18-14 with that defeat, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Coming up, St. Laurence will square off against Homewood-Flossmoor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thornton Fractional South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
