Softball Game Preview: Woodland Wolves vs. Sutter Huskies

The Woodland Wolves will face off against the Sutter Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Woodland's offense. They came up short against Destiny Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Sutter earned a 7-2 victory over El Camino on Tuesday. With that win, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Gabriella Jones, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kara Roper was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sutter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Sutter's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Woodland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
