Softball Preview: Rockwall-Heath Hawks vs. Longview Lobos
The Rockwall-Heath Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Longview Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rockwall-Heath took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Royse City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since February 28th.
Kelsey Wathen was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Longview can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Tyler Legacy as they made off with a 19-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Rockwall-Heath has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. As for Longview, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
