Football Game Preview: Hand Tigers vs. Fairfield Prep Jesuits + How To Watch

The Hand Tigers will head out to challenge the Fairfield Prep Jesuits at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Hand 14.7, Fairfield Prep 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Last Friday, Hand humbled Shelton with a 48-7 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

Bobby Reh had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in one score on the ground. Diego Portley made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Hand didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Stone Leckey and Portley. Portley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Fairfield Prep had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Nighthawks 10-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jesuits have posted against the Nighthawks since November 11, 2016.

Fairfield Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Hand, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Hand against Fairfield Prep when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 34-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
