Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berean Christian). They walked away with an 86-78 victory over the Highlands Christian Knights on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Leading Berean Christian to victory were Matthew Wall and Derek Vasquez. Wall dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 boards, while Vasquez posted 32 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Vasquez has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Vasquez, who had eight points along with seven boards and five assists.

Highlands Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Dorvil, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Dorvil a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Angel Scomparin, who went 10 of 23 on his way to 28 points and six steals.

Berean Christian's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Highlands Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Berean Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-58 victory against Seven Rivers Christian on the 17th. As for Highlands Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-54 win against Sheridan Hills Christian on the 16th.
