Basketball Game Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Provo Bulldogs

Orem is 2-8 against Provo since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Orem Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Provo Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

Orem is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 53-31 to Mountain View.

Meanwhile, Provo waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They strolled past the Utes with points to spare, taking the game 42-27.

Orem better focus on containing Sutton Villa and Naomi Martinez as the pair were huge in Provo's win. Villa dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards, while Martinez posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Villa is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sage Yenchik, who earned six points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Orem's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Provo, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.

Orem might still be hurting after the 54-29 loss they got from Provo in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Yenchik, who went 5 for 12 en route to 21 points and eight steals.
