Softball Recap: Bethel Christian Has No Trouble Against Desert Christian

Bethel Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Desert Christian Knights on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Kings, who have now won 13 matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Katie Clark made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maliyah Jarrett and Finlee Milhouse did most of the damage at the plate: Jarrett went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Milhouse got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. That's the most runs Milhouse has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Havlicheck, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Bethel Christian and bumps their season record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Desert Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14-1.

As of now, neither Bethel Christian nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
