Softball Recap: Stevenson Comes Up Short

Stevenson blew Soledad out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Soledad got their revenge. The Pirates fell just short of the Aztecs by a score of 7-5. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aztecs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Stevenson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Sanchez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Stevenson and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Soledad, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Stevenson will be playing at home against Alisal at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
