Brighton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Memphis Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3. The Cardinals' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brighton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Jayden Taitano, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Memphis Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
