Basketball Game Preview: Grove Christian School Falcons vs. Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen

The Grove Christian School Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Grove Christian School will be strutting in after a victory while Denbigh Baptist Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Grove Christian School took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 50-28 margin over Cristo Rey. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.

Kailah Carter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 50% from the field on her way to 34 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Her big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Hopkins, who posted two points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Grove Christian School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Denbigh Baptist Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 25-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Walsingham Academy.

Grove Christian School will have to contain Khalia Boyd as she made an impact in Denbigh Baptist Christian's last game. She scored two points and eight boards.

Grove Christian School's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Grove Christian School came up short against Denbigh Baptist Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 23-18. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
