Softball Recap: Holcomb Takes a Loss

Holcomb blew Elkhart out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Elkhart got their revenge. Holcomb fell just short of Elkhart by a score of 5-3. The Longhorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 18-10.

Holcomb saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malia Ruda, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Holcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Elkhart, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Holcomb will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Spearville at 4:00 p.m. on April 21. As for Elkhart, they will face off against Sublette at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Elkhart's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
