The Cibola Cougars will face off against the Farmington Scorpions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cibola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Cibola is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Rio Rancho, who was ranked second at the time (Cibola was ranked 11th). The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Rams on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Isaac Brito, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Escobedo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Farmington came up short against Volcano Vista on Friday and fell 6-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Scorpions in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Cibola's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Farmington, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Cibola beat Farmington 18-14 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Scorpions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
