Basketball Game Preview: Harry S. Truman Tigers vs. Bensalem Fighting Owls

Harry S. Truman is 1-9 against Bensalem since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Harry S. Truman Tigers will take on the Bensalem Fighting Owls in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Harry S. Truman will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Council Rock South, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Harry S. Truman made off with a 51-50 win over Council Rock South. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Bensalem in a 57-39 victory over Pennsbury on Tuesday. That 18 point margin sets a new team best for the Fighting Owls this season.

Harry S. Truman better focus on containing Amir Drummond and Aidan Mayfield as the pair were huge in Bensalem's win. Drummond almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists, while Mayfield posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Drummond's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jacob Eberhardt was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Bensalem pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Harry S. Truman, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3.

Harry S. Truman beat Bensalem 71-58 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Drummond, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and four steals.
