Basketball Recap: Crooms Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Raoh Connell and Kenai Anderson

On Thursday, the Crooms Academy Panthers ended up a good deal behind the Mount Dora Hurricanes and lost 64-47. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Crooms Academy had strong showings from Kenai Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Raoh Connell, who posted 11 points. Anderson's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

It was another big night for Daqavious Taylor, who had 28 points and three steals for Mount Dora. Taylor has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. D'Micah Lowman was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Crooms Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Mount Dora, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17.

Crooms Academy will face off against Cocoa Beach on Wednesday. Cocoa Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. As for Mount Dora, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-38 loss against Hagerty on the 31st.
