Baseball Recap: Vance Charter Has No Trouble Against Eno River Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northern Durham, Vance Charter was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Eno River Academy Bobcats 11-2. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Parker Byrum was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Byrum was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thomas Tucker, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Dethmers, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Vance Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eno River Academy only posted an OBP of .333.

Vance Charter's record now sits at 11-8. As for Eno River Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
