Football Recap: Interlachen Takes a Loss

Interlachen extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were dealt a 48-6 defeat at the hands of the Umatilla Bulldogs. The Rams lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-48 score last time.

DJ McKinnon threw for 60 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. Raszir Phelps was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and one score.

As for Umatilla, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Umatilla's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Lambert, who rushed for 95 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Another pass catcher making a difference was Bryce Norflee, who gained 90 total yards and two touchdowns.

Interlachen didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-7 loss against Christ's Church Academy on the 15th. As for Umatilla, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 55-6 win against Central on the 19th.
