Softball Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Babcock on Monday, Southwest Florida Christian came back down to earth. The King's fell just short of the Cardinal Mooney Cougars by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the King's have suffered since March 3rd.

Natalie Recker put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Recker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Adrianna Thorne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Southwest Florida Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Cardinal Mooney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Southwest Florida Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will take on Braden River at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Cougars' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Pirates have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
