Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Independence Patriots took a blow against the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets, falling 58-14. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 465th in North Carolina, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 48th in South Carolina).

Fort Mill found their leader in sophomore Colbie Wolf, who posted 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Independence and nudges their season record down to 1-20. As for Fort Mill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Independence has already played their next game, a 45-25 defeat against East Mecklenburg on the 7th. As for Fort Mill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-20 win against Indian Land on the 11th.
