Basketball Recap: A.J. Ellender Takes a Loss

A.J. Ellender was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 61-23 loss at the hands of the Morgan City Tigers. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

A.J. Ellender's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Morgan City, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

A.J. Ellender and Morgan City could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. A.J. Ellender will square off against South Lafourche at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday down 226 places (345 vs. 119). Similarly, Morgan City (ranked 284th) will meet Vandebilt Catholic (ranked 13th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
