Basketball Recap: Leandro Rojas Vargas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central Falls over Exeter-West Greenwich

Central Falls was the 69-37 winner over Exeter-West Greenwich when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Central Falls Warriors fell just short of the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights by a score of 64-61 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered against the Scarlet Knights since January 9, 2019.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leandro Rojas Vargas, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The match was Rojas Vargas' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sire Hazard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Central Falls and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their record now sits at 8-4.

Central Falls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-58 loss against Times Squared Academy on the 23rd. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, they will square off against Coventry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Exeter-West Greenwich is facing Coventry at the right time seeing as Coventry is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
