Wells's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Mineral County Serpents. The win continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Serpents: they've now won eight in a row.

Gage Uhlig was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Hall, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Wells' victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Mineral County, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wells beat the Serpents by a score of 7-4 later that day.
