Baseball Game Preview: Mount Morris Blue Devils vs. Perry Yellowjackets

The Mount Morris Blue Devils will head out to face off against the Perry Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mount Morris comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Mount Morris fell victim to Caledonia-Mumford and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Raiders. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Perry and Geneseo, and Geneseo kept the tradition alive. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 10-8 on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Maximus Siewert was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Tyler Harvey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Perry now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mount Morris, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Mount Morris suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
