It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Southern Lee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Scotland Fighting Scots 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Fighting Scots: they've now won four in a row.

Christian Cox spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Southern Lee's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Faulk, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
