Baseball Game Preview: Buckeye Panthers vs. Jena Giants

The Buckeye Panthers will square off against the Jena Giants at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Buckeye sitting on three straight wins and Jena on six.

Buckeye took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against North DeSoto, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Griffins on Saturday, sneaking past 5-4.

Meanwhile, while Jena put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Delhi Charter. The Giants came out on top against the Gators by a score of 4-0.

Jonas Jenkins was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Buckeye's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Jena, their victory bumped their record up to 20-7.

Buckeye beat Jena 5-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Giants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
