Basketball Recap: Manchester Valley Has No Trouble Against North Hagerstown

It's playoff time, and Manchester Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victor by a 43-22 margin over the North Hagerstown Hubs on Friday. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Manchester Valley had a senior duo take command as Emma Penczek posted 12 points and Emma Shaffer earned ten points. Those ten points gave Shaffer a new career-high.

Manchester Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points over those games. North Hagerstown is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Looking ahead, Manchester Valley will venture away from home to square off against Westminster at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Hagerstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
