Recap: Lanett Panthers vs. Horseshoe Bend Generals
The Lanett Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Horseshoe Bend 60-25 at home. Lanett has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nakeriona Heard, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christiana Brock, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Lanett pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.1 points. As for Horseshoe Bend, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
Lanett will be playing at home against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Panthers are ranked 97th). Horseshoe Bend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
