Basketball Game Preview: Penobscot Valley Howlers vs. Calais Blue Devils

The Penobscot Valley Howlers are taking a road trip to take on the Calais Blue Devils at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Penobscot Valley is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Penobscot Valley was beaten by Schenck 59-22. While losing is never fun, the Howlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Wolverines are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Calais earned a 50-41 win over Lee Academy on Thursday.

Calais' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Penobscot Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Penobscot Valley came up short against Calais in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 46-35. Can Penobscot Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
