Softball Recap: Rodriguez Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Rodriguez rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Sheldon Huskies 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since March 17th.

Rodriguez got a big performance out of Alanna Williams, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. Lily Hartt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Rodriguez and bumps their season record up to 16-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Sheldon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season.

Rodriguez will face off against Davis Sr. at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Sheldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
