Basketball Recap: Martinsburg Comes Up Short

Martinsburg has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to the Spring Mills Cardinals on the road by a 61-45 margin on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-37 back in January.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 10-4. As for Spring Mills, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Martinsburg and Spring Mills should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings. Martinsburg (ranked fifth) will meet WestSide (ranked 33rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Spring Mills will face off against Huntington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday up 26 places (1 vs. 27).
